It’s the first day of CES and it started off at a rushed pace. Traffic was a little bad and parking was insane, which made us get to the convention center a bit later than we had hoped. Maybe by an hour. The show floor is open from 10am to 6pm, which is an hour less than Thursday and Friday.
I had a few appointments to go to throughout the day, but in between them I was able to roam around the show floor checking out some very cool products. Here are my 5 favorite picks of the day with a couple of bonus picks.
Top 5 CES Picks From Day 1
• Wacom Bamboo Spark. Write or draw on paper with the pen and transfer it to pad or computer digitally. Works really well. Records your pen strokes as layers. Working on importing as vectors.
Also tried out the Bamboo Smart and Bamboo Solo. The pressure sensitivity works very good. Sketches come out pretty good.
• Audio-Technica Bluetooth Turntable. Can pair up to 8 wireless devices all at one time.
These noise canceling headsets sound great and come in a wireless version.
Create objects and write in 3D with this device.
• Hyper iShowFast and HyperDrive USB Type-C 5-in-1 Hub. iShowFast can be plugged directly into an iPhone, iPad or iPod to transfer files direct to the USB flash drive. Comes in 5 sizes and features quick access to Dropbox. HyperDrive 5-in-1 Hub features ports for USB Type-C, SDXC, micro SDXC and 2 USB 3.0.
Hyper produces a device called to Pearl, which is a compact mirror with a built in USB battery pack.
• 4moms Self-Installing Car Seat. This automatically levels, tensions and continuously monitors the car seat. The 4moms phone app gives alerts and other information.
Here are a couple of other products I thought needed a mention:
• Toast Phone Cases. All wood phone cases sourced from sustainable wood. Custom laser etched cases can be ordered online.
They also have new leather cases.
• Jam Levity. This speaker floats above the base.
• Dog and Bone Locks and Cases. The waterproof cases look really good with a nice feel. Keyless bluetooth enabled locks come in 3 different styles (luggage, mini, heavy duty), app can store up to 5 locks and can share with up to 50 individuals.
• Mimoco mimoPowerTubes. Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Minions styles.
